John To

John To.

John To grew up in the Walled City. His mother managed to raise five children with an absent husband. She used to get the ends of material rolls from the factories and make up patterns—she was very brilliant—and sew them for her children, and the rest she sold in the streets, and sometimes walked all the way to the Chinese border to sell them there. That's how she raised her children.

Anyway, John came to our meetings in ‘The Well’ in the Walled City, and he was hooked from the beginning on Jesus worship. He couldn't wait to come back the next time and brought his mother with him. And from that time on, he never looked back. He was a worshipper. And after staying in our New Man House, he came and ran one of our houses in Lamma, and then he came to Hang Fook Camp.

And we began to have Sunday afternoon meetings, which all kinds of people in Hong Kong came to. And John was the first worship leader of his kind. And it was from that that many other believers in Hong Kong were attracted to come and worship with us as they saw the Holy Spirit move.

He was a worshipper.

And we later got married in Hang Fook Camp. That was a great day.

(John To)
